Linguistic Samples
This sample is from my Health and Hispanic Community course (SPAN 4190). This was my final paper, and showcases my ability to analyze complex healthcare issues in the Spanish language.
This sample is from my Health and Hispanic Community course (SPAN 4190). This was a reflection paper based on a service learning project, which allowed me to gain a greater appreciation for the experience.
Culture Samples
This sample is from my Contemporary Hispanic Culture class (SPAN 4350). For this paper, we read a historical fiction story about collective memory during the Spanish Civil War.
This sample is from my history of Latin America I class (HIST 3400). We focused specifically on the history of Latin America from before the arrival of Europeans to independence. This paper focused on the comparison of Spanish and Indian empires.
Literature and Humanities Samples
This sample is from my Survey of Latin American Literature class that I took abroad in San Ramón, Costa Rica. I read a story called La montaña maldita, and this paper analyzed the themes of morality in the story.
This sample is from my Contemporary Hispanic Culture class (SPAN 4350). We watched a film and read a book about the Strait of Gibraltar and compared the film elements associated with the trafficking of drugs with the book depictions.
